The Maxi-Cosi Pearl XL Slide Pro is the next car seat in the 360 Pro family after the infant carrier, but with a huge "twist". Designed for children from around 6 months up to 12 years (up to 150 cm), it combines SlideTech™ ergonomics (sliding out from the base) with the functionality of a classic "last" car seat. It's an investment that evolves with your family's needs.
How does it work?
You use the car seat in two modes that change as your child grows:
Stage 1: Toddler (61–105 cm | max. 17 kg)
Restraint: The car seat's integrated 5-point harness.
Installation: On the FamilyFix Slide Pro base.
Features: During this stage, you benefit from the full functionality of the system: rotate the car seat 360 degrees and slide it out of the vehicle (SlideTech™) to comfortably secure the harness without bending down. We recommend rearward-facing travel (RWF) for as long as possible within this height range.
Stage 2: Older child (100–150 cm | approx. 4–12 years)
Restraint: The vehicle's 3-point seat belt (like an adult).
Installation: Standalone car seat using its own ISOFIX connectors (no base required!).
Transformation: The integrated harness is stored inside the seat shell, transforming the car seat into a safe high-back booster for an older child.
SlideTech™ – a revolution in securing your child (Stage 1)
Thanks to the Slide Pro base, the car seat slides beyond the edge of the vehicle. You don't have to "dive" into the car to tighten the harness for your little one. You can stand upright with full access to your child. The system is AGR-certified as being back-friendly.
A major innovation
Independent ISOFIX connectors
This is where the Pearl XL stands out from typical modular systems. In conventional modular systems, once your child outgrows the base, you need to buy a new car seat because the "old" seat is useless without the base. Here, it's different.
When your child switches to the vehicle seat belt (over 100 cm):
Remove the car seat from the FamilyFix Slide Pro base (you can sell the base or use it for a second child with the infant carrier!).
From the bottom of the Pearl XL car seat, pull out the hidden, independent ISOFIX connectors.
Attach the seat directly to the vehicle's seat.
This allows the Pearl XL to become a classic, lightweight and slim car seat for an older child (15–36 kg) without compromising stability, while you regain a valuable base.
Easy-in harnesses – no more tangling
The harness straps in the Pearl XL Slide Pro stay open and are positioned to the sides. This allows you to place your child in the clean, unobstructed seat and fasten the buckle in seconds.
Safety (G-CELL)
G-CELL side-impact protection (honeycomb structure) is integrated into the car seat, so it provides effective protection both when the seat is installed on the base and when it is used independently as a seat for an older child.

The Maxi-Cosi Pearl XL Slide Pro is a premium-class champion of long-term value. Usually, parents need to buy three seats: an infant carrier, a rotating toddler seat and a seat for an older child. With this system, you buy:
Infant carrier (Coral Slide Pro).
Base (Slide Pro).
Pearl XL Slide Pro. And that's the end of your car seat expenses for 12 years.
Because the Pearl XL has its own ISOFIX connectors, after around 4 years you can free up the expensive base, which can then be used by a younger sibling. Brilliant in its simplicity.
Remember to check that the 3-point seat belt is routed correctly!
Verdict: If you're looking for one solid car seat after the infant carrier that will stay with your family until the end of the period when children are required to use a car seat, the Pearl XL Slide Pro stands out in the modular systems category.
Remember that rearward-facing travel is always the safest way to travel, and there are many car seats on the market that allow children to travel rearward-facing for much longer than this model!
